AutoTrader is a progressive, forward-thinking business with a digital first presence in the UK. Requiring an outstanding set-up that would inspire and excite workers based in Manchester & London. AutoTrader needed to have a workplace that would represent both the history of the company and where their exponential growth was taking them. As the UK’s largest selling and buying hub for cars, vans, and trucks, AutoTrader took the smart decision to move away from print to becoming a completely online digital business. The way the company worked  changed with this and so the workplace needed an overhaul too.

Problem

The AutoTrader offices designed with the squads, teams & tribes in mind, and the needs of every individual at the heart of the business.

Open-space layouts present challenges as there is a lack of wall space and natural zoning. Workspaces for admin staff, call centre teams, infrastructure and developers were required. Breakout zones with creative themes such as a ski lodge and video gaming room required AV solutions that were also creative and forward thinking. A system to keep all staff updated with the news was also on the wish list.

Solution

We worked closely with interior design & fit-out partner Claremont to develop an audio-visual scheme in order to deploy equipment across an estate of 40 meeting rooms all named after different car models.

Touch screen displays and feature video displays were installed to keep the office space informative and useful for squad working purposes.

Digital signage integrated with a content management system that enabled news sharing & IPTV distribution in an instant.

Video conferencing systems were installed for one touch online meetings between the offices and for remote workers, and, a room booking system with touch-panels providing information was implemented for each room keeping the meeting room schedule flow organised.
